George Vacek
WW Business Development, Scientific Instrumentation & Medical Devices at NVIDIA
Georgeย Vacek is responsible for strategic development in the sequencing market, managing NVIDIAโs collaborations with instrument manufacturers and thought leaders throughout the genomics industry. Throughout his twenty-year career, he has also held senior business and technical roles in the computational life sciences at Schrodinger, OpenEye Scientific Software, Hewlett Packard and DDN Storage, helping genomic sequencing centers, pharma and biomedical research organizations, hospitals, and instrument and software manufacturers maximize research productivity for emerging scientific methods. He has published more than 30 peer-reviewed papers and contributed to several widely used programs. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Georgia, an M.B.A. from Portland State University, and Bachelor’s degrees in Physics and Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin.
Shane Walker
Director of Medical Technology Research at Vamstar
Shane is senior director for Vamstarโs healthcare market research portfolio, which provides a unique perspective on the healthcare ecosystem by incorporating traditional business analysis with the latest data collection techniques and Vamstarโs novel, AI-based, procurement insight. Shane has 17 years of experience conducting industry research, business analysis, and strategy developmentโmost of which has been focused on medical technology. Shane has worked with a wide range of clients including large end-equipment and semiconductor manufacturers, software developers, and start-ups, and he is actively engaged in the investigation of technology being developed to improve care outcomes. Prior to joining Vamstar, Shane was a research director and principal analyst with IHS Markit and Omdia. He received his BA from the University of West Florida and MBA from St. Edwardโs University in Austin Texas. Shane is based in Los Angeles, California.
Praful Mehta
CEO and Co-founder of Vamstar
Praful Mehta is the co-founder and CEO of Vamstar. He has more than 16 years of experience inย helping pharmaceutical and medical device companies create effective commercialisation strategiesย across different therapeutic areas. Mr. Mehta has been a longtime advisor to senior teams onย the issues of market access strategies, sourcing and procurement, launch planning, landscapeย assessments, market competitiveness, and lifecycle planning. He has significant project experienceย in working with the BRIC-MT and EU-5 nations, as well as the United States and Japan. Mr. Mehtaย has been interviewed and quoted in various journals, print media, blogs and leadership forums withinย the industry. Prior to working at Vamstar, Mr. Mehta was a Senior Principal at IHS Markit, where heย developed the companyโs core market access, pricing and reimbursement, and forecasting capabilityย for different healthcare markets. Mr. Mehta also led various project teams at GlaxoSmithKlineย Pharmaceuticals and Johnson & Johnson.
